The South Tyrol Wine Museum is located in the centre of Kaltern/Caldaro, in the former tithe cellar of the Lords of Kaltern-Laimburg. The museum offers a tour through the cultural history of wine in South Tyrol: from historic implements that illustrate the work on the estates through the working year to the religious imagery that shows the many links between wine and religion. Over thirty different grape varieties are grown in the museum’s small vineyard; the products can be tasted in the autumn.
